Founded by Katherine Lockwood and Alex Ross in 2001 the Spence Bakery is independently owned and run. We specialize in handmade and homemade baked goods. We know that there’s nothing quite like a freshly baked loaf, that’s why we make all our breads from scratch each day. We also know that delicious bread takes time, so we slow down the process, letting our bread rise slowly, allowing a fuller flavour and superior texture to develop. We’re sure you’ll taste the difference. Our perennially popular white and wholemeal loaves are available daily and speciality breads are on offer throughout the week. You can also come and relax in our Spence Café across the road at number 178 and enjoy some of the fine selection of drinks and delicious handmade baked goods we have on offer.
